What is Gridcoin?
Gridcoin is a new peer-to-peer internet based cryptocurrency that aims to provide real benefits to humanity by compensating the coin miners for participating in BOINC projects that may lead to advances in medicine, biology, mathematics, science, climatology, and astrophysics by
... [More] concentrating a large percentage of the computational power towards BOINC research - instead of generating unnecessary heat and wasted power for the proof of work algorithms required to keep the coin network running. [Less]
I found it rather difficult to create code signatures from Windows when rapidly pushing updates to BOINC server (and using correct security protocols!), therefore I have created a GUI for code signing. It takes your private code sign key and a list of files and generates relevant .sig files that you can transfer to the BOINC server.
Pirates@Home is an ongoing test of BOINC, the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing. Pirates@Home is currently being used to test BOINC’s forum software for possible use by another project, Interactions in Understanding the Universe. At present Pirates@Home is not doing any real
... [More] scientific computation, we are just having ‘fun’ with BOINC. [Less]
The Generic Grid-Grid Bridge (3G Bridge) is a software component used within the EDGeS project that provides the core component of the Service Grid - Desktop Grid interoperability solution.
Milkyway@Home uses the BOINC platform to harness volunteered computing resources, creating a highly accurate three dimensional model of the Milky Way galaxy using data gathered by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. This project enables research in both astroinformatics and computer science.
