"You can't claim two committer aliases in a project"
This does not model the real world very well -- for instance, I have two aliases in Spyce because the repository was imported from one svn server to another with different usernames.

Ohloh does have a way of fixing this: contributor aliases. Improving the experience here is on our list of action items.
In the meantime, to get to contributor aliases, you can go the the project page, then click on Edit, then below that, on Aliases. Let me know if you have trouble with the Alias UI.
