Duplicate tags falsify "similar projects"
Hi,
the current tagging mechanism allows duplicate (or more generally multiple occurences) of the same tag for one project. This not only pollutes the project pages by displaying the same tags twice, it even falsifies the similar projects
results because duplicate tags are counted twice if they match.
I suggest you remove all duplicate tags from the database and disallow further duplicate tags in the tag editor.
Otherwise the tag spamming will become even worse. Currently you only need to tag your project tools, tools, tools, tools, tools, tools
and it will magically become a very high ranked similar project to every other project tagged tools (and that's a lot).

Duplicate tags should not be allowed -- and at least at one point in the past, this was working properly.

I found all these when editing the Growl project tags, so I am sure that the duplicate tags falsify the match results:

I can confirm the bug. It appears to be related to our automated web crawler, which periodically updates project tags.
It does not appear possible for end users to apply duplicate tags using the tag editor. Are you serious when you say that you can tag a project with tools, tools, tools, tools
, or are you just hypothesizing?
We'll investigate the bug with our web crawler tags. Let me know if you are actually able to manually enter duplicate tags somehow.

Well, the tools, tools, tools
thing was pure theory. I now tried, but I have not been able to manually create multiple identical tags. Sorry for that.
