This project is based on the original "Media Player Classic" and was created after Gabest, the original author, stopped working on it. Several new features have been integrated in this player, such as:

Directshow filters for Ogg Vorbis, Theora, Speex and FLAC. Allows these formats to be played in Windows Media Player and other Directshow players.
Also includes encoding filters for these formats. The project is distributed under a BSD license.
VisualSubSync is a subtitle program using audio waveform representation as it's cornerstone.
SRT and SSA/ASS subtitle formats are supported.
It also provides some tools (error checking, speed indicators, network suggestions) to help improving the quality of your subtitle.
