LMMS

I have used this program for more than four years now, it is the best free music making software for Windows around. It is for Linux too. Lately the community has been growing, more developers, GUI artists and musicians have come together in this lovely family. You should join too! We need a person like you, who is active, interested and maybe a developer? Anyway, if you like music and sound, this is a program for you, in the same way GIMP is a program for photo editing.

Creating music on Linux is still difficult. I am happy to see programs such as LMMS which has nice design and community to potentially make it THE open-source music tool. It's not there yet, but there is already an impressive sample database and synthesizer collection and for certain genres it is already fully usable. Thumbs up.
