I'm excited to announce the first official releases of Kubos, a simple interactive CAD (3D modelling) program based on OpenCASCADE.
Today I am releasing both version 0.1 of Kubos and the first alpha release of version 0.2. Both are intended for

early adopters who are curious about Kubos and want to take a first look at this application. If you are looking for a stable, bug-free CAD system, Kubos probably isn't for you right now and you should wait for release 1.0.
You can find more information on Kubos (including installation istructions) on the project's wiki:

Hi! My name is Marko and I’m the creator of Kubos, an open source CAD System. On this blog you will find information about the development of Kubos. I will use this first blog post to introduce myself and my project.
I developed the first version of

Kubos as part of my thesis at university. The main reason for developing it was providing a simple open source CAD system which could be used in schools. I’m going to be a teacher for math and geometry myself and I have always been dissatisfied with the CAD Systems that were available to pupils. Therefore I decided to write my own. After about a year of development I am pleased to finally release a first version of Kubos.
Even though Kubos was originally designed to be used by pupils in schools I’m also planning to make it useful for others. Therefore, Kubos is modular and easy to extend and I am planning to release derivative versions which target other audiences. The first of these is called Kubos Script. It allows for creating parametric models from Python scripts. Other derivative versions may follow in the future.
Kubos is hosted on sourceforge (https://sourceforge.net/projects/kubos) and can be downloaded from there. I hope it's useful for you and I'm always thankful for feedback! [Less]
