Last year at Elevate 2010, Pardot and GoodData announced they were joining forces to give Pardot users even more powerful reporting tools. Together, Pardot and GoodData have spent the last year creating an advanced reporting connector that gives ... [More] Pardot users the ability to measure the true effectiveness of their marketing campaigns and contribution to the sales pipeline. At Elevate 2011, Pardot and GoodData are ready to show off their hard work on the Pardot Marketing Analytics experience.  First, a bit of background on what we have been doing for the last year. Initially, our intention was to have a limited testing period, followed by a release of the GoodData for Pardot Standard analytics during Q2 2010. However, the feedback from our early testers was clear: they wanted a seamless experience and they wanted more valuable data in the product.  Based on this feedback, we added some functionality to make the integration process a snap. We also added a significant amount of data, including custom fields for prospects and additional objects. Together, we decided to open the testing period up to a wider audience — our second testing cycle included over 150 Pardot customers. This longer testing cycle allowed us to gather more feedback, improve our integration, and prepare for a roll-out to the entire customer base. After much work and fine-tuning of infrastructure, Pardot and GoodData are pleased to announce that the Standard analytics product will be released mid-November and  will be available to everyone, free of charge. At GoodData, we have found that marketers are always looking for ways to stay one-step ahead — they are eager to manage by the metrics. However, the basic question we hear time and time again is always, “What do I measure?”   We believe the Pardot Standard analytics project begins to answer that question. “It’s amazing the insights marketers can glean about their marketing performance and ROI with just a bit of measuring,” states GoodData’s Senior Director, Powered by Partnerships, Cody Crnkovich. “We are providing the essential Key Performance Indicators to give Pardot users the best and most powerful analytics experience possible.  And even more exciting news for Pardot users, Pardot Premium analytics will be available early 2012.  This version will include complete campaign and performance data along with weekly snapshots (think historical trending reports!).  Be on the look out for more details soon.   [Less]

1. Historical Trending Reports Historical Trending charts track changes over time of a single metric or series of metrics.  Thislevel of historical trending enables you to understand how  your business if changing overtime, in contrast to  only ... [More] seeing “today’s view.”  In this example, you can  see that while your sales pipeline size fluctuates over time, the majority of the pipeline is dominated  by deals in the $5001-$50000 and $0-5000 range. Track your marketing activity historically by measuring your leads and campaigns. Visually  represent how the total number of new leads and  the breakdown by type are changing over time. 2. Tiering & Grouping Reports Tiering & Grouping Reports take any metric and group them for easier reporting and analysis.  For instance, it is easy to track deals that are 0-60 days old or opportunities that are between $50,000 - $2000,000. This example shows a breakdown of the sales pipeline by opportunity age and deals that are 0-60 days, 61-120 days, 121-180 days, etc.  Sometimes the simplest visualizations are the most powerful. Tiering & Grouping Reports can be used for tracking open support tickets.  Measure open ticket status in a simple colored line chart which tracks tickets by number of days open 3. Waterfall Reports Waterfall Reports (often called What’s Changed Reports) track a cohort group of metrics or facts over time to see what happens to them.  In this example, we are tracking sales deals that start a quarter in the “Discovery” stage. You can see that 93.9% of the deals remain in the “Discovery” stage throughout the quarter, while only 5.7% moved to a later stage. Waterfall reports are useful for uncovering trends and patterns for marketing and customer support analytics too. Track tradeshow leads, page visits, ticket sources and more. 4. Exception Reports Exception Reporting allows you to track metrics that deviate from any set standard.  Tracking where marketing leads, sales opportunities or support tickets are deviating from the norm is an extremely powerful reporting tool.  In this example, we are monitoring marketing campaigns spends that are greater than what sales generated.  5. Multidimensional Reports For immediate visual insight, start tracking many dimensions of your data.  You can track sales opportunities across size, age, win status and time.  In this example we are tracking support activity across four dimensions: support request, priority, case type and time.  This reports is great for monitoring what case types are closing the fastest according to priority status.    Share these reports with your co-workers and give them the PDF version.  Click HERE to get your free copy.
