It’s time for another major release! We are proud to present Gitea
1.9.0 to the world.
In this release, we merged
370 pull requests
– This is more than 1.8.0 (245) and 1.7.0 (158)!
This version of Gitea contains security fixes that could not be
... [More]
backported to 1.8. For this reason, we strongly recommend updating.
You can download one of our pre-built binaries from our
downloads page - make sure to select the
correct platform! For further details on how to install, follow our
installation guide.
Unfortunately, there is a known issue with our prebuilt images on armv7, see #6700.
Using armv6 has worked for many users, so please try that in the meantime.
We’d like to thank all of our backers on
Open Collective, who are helping us deliver
a better piece of software.
A few things we would like to mention with this release:
We are in the process of moving Gitea’s development to https://gitea.com
Currently the only repository left on GitHub is Gitea itself.
We are hoping to be able to migrate completely before the next release.
We have changed our Docker tagging!
Starting now the :1 and :1.9 tags will only be updated on tagged release like 1.9.0 and not on every commit to a release branch. This means that those tags will be more stable. Release candidate tags will be ignored.
For example, the :1 tag will follow :1.10 that itself will only be created for the first stable release of 1.10.0.
Logging has been overhauled (thanks @zeripath!) (#6038)
For a more complete overview, check out the documentation.
With that out of the way, we are excited to show you what’s new in Gitea version 1.9.0: [Less]
