Project Summary

The GaiaBB Project aims to provide developing countries with a way to interact without the need to establish heavy infrastructure.

GoalsGaiaBB is not just another forum. It is all about decentralized social networking.

If you're a kid going to a rural school in Africa or PNG, and you have a One Laptop Per Child XO laptop, you can sync your forum with your mates at school and work with it after hours for as long as the OLPC XO laptop has battery life.

Provide an XO centric distributed serverless environment Ensure that XO UI guidelines are adhered to Ensure that kids can take our code and modify it to meet their own needs - code, hacks, themes, and languages!

Eventually, we will establish a School Server (XS) version of this software, so teachers or the school community can manage a centralized forum, but the main aim of GaiaBB is to be as useful to as many kids as possible wherever they are located.
