Project Summary

This project maily gaims on HAM (Amateur Radio Operators). Based on the ATMEL Microcontroller this project develop hard and software for an APRS (http://www.aprs.org) portabel client.
Comparable to the Opentracker (http://n1vg.net/opentracker/) projects it goes further. It goes more in the direction of an intelligent mobile assistent with interpretation of incomming APRS message, ISS (http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/station) support and calculation of the nearest FM relay.
The APRS data interpretation includes:
The project is based on the WhereAVR (http://www.knology.net/~gdion/whereavr.html) and uses open source libraries from atmel and other open source project for HAM operators.
Furthermore this project can easily be reused for other radio transmitters like "citizen band" or LPD radio devices which are free (without amateur radio licence) to used by everyone.
