So this is something we’ve been wanting for a LONG time, and we finally got it set up as we were staging bugzilla.mozilla.org for last week’s upgrade.  The exact code that we’re running on bugzilla.mozilla.org is now directly checked out onto the production servers from a version control system.  What’s more, there’s a read-only mirror [...]

Maybe you didn’t know, but Bugzilla also has language packs available. Not all of them are up-to-date, but 6 languages are currently available for the latest stable release (Bugzilla 3.0.3): en, de, fr, ru, be, bg. I set up an installation with all these language packs installed, so that you can easily play with it [...]

The Bugzilla project is once again going to be participating in the Google Summer of Code under the Mozilla banner.  Gerv has the details.  If you know of any projects that would be good, be sure to add them to the brainstorming page.  For reference, here’s what we signed up for last year (although we [...]

Almost one year after we reopened the trunk for development, we are freezing again to prepare Bugzilla 3.2 RC1. (Almost!) all major enhancements we wanted for 3.2 have been implemented and so we are going to debug the code which suffered many regressions in the past few months due to heavy changes we made. It’s [...]

I've started a new technical blog, called Code Simplicity. You can get an idea of what it's going to be about by reading my first article, Welcome To Code Simplicity!.If you'd like, you can subscribe using the RSS Feed, or for us LJ users, I've ... [More] syndicated it to codesimplicity, so you can add it to your friends list that way. People can also subscribe via email, using a form on left-hand side of the site itself.I'll probably be talking about Bugzilla and VCI there, instead of here. This blog on LiveJournal will continue to exist as my personal blog, where I'll talk about music, anime, or whatever silly thing strikes my fancy at the moment. :-)-Max [Less]

I just released Bugzilla 3.0.3. It contains lots of bug fixes, and in particular a fix for mod_perl performance that makes a huge difference on most installations. One of the best parts of this release was that Cédric Corazza and Emmanuel Seyman ... [More] helped do the release work! In fact, they did almost all of it! :-) It made it so easy for me to just get everything done in a few hours and get the release done.We didn't have a development release this time, because the current code in CVS just isn't stable enough for even a development release. But I'll tell you, it has lots of cool features, not the least of which is support for Oracle as a database backend. I'm looking forward to getting 3.1.3 out the door as soon as we fix all of the blockers!-Max [Less]

On December 4, 2007, Bugzilla developers got a great email from Melissa Shapiro (Press Release manager at Mozilla Corp.) telling us that Bugzilla won two awards from Software Test & Performance: one for Free Test/Performance Winner and the other ... [More] for Defect/Issue Management Winner. That’s definitely a great news and these awards are an acknowledgment of the [...] [Less]
