GD is an open source code library for the dynamic creation of images by programmers. GD creates PNG, JPEG or GIF, among other formats. GD is commonly used to generate charts, graphics, thumbnails, and most anything else, on the fly. While not restricted to use on the web, the most common applications of GD involve web site development.
The Input Filter extension is meant to address this issue by implementing a set of filters and mechanisms that users can use to safely access their input data.
Igbinary is a drop in replacement for the standard PHP serializer. Instead of time and space consuming textual representation, igbinary stores PHP data structures in a compact binary form. Savings are significant when using memcached or similar memory based storages for serialized data.
