I work for a large telco as a mid level system admin in charge of 100s of dns servers. Mostly ISC BIND 9.4+ running on Linux and Solaris, some legacy Microsoft DNS stuff. The *nix stuff we manage with iDNS and some custom report tools we did in house. HA is via heartbeat and MySQL replication clusters and failover proxies.
