I've recently been testing different monitoring software products in order to recommend the best one available to my boss, and after a couple of weeks of extensive research and quite a bit of testing, I stumbled upon Pandora FMS and was utterly glad I did. It's not for the newcomers to system and network monitoring, but for those of us who know the trade it makes monitoring really huge environments an easy task. Plus, given the chance to create different profiles for different users or user groups, it was easy to create a dashboard that'd be understandable for my boss, something he loved. Now we're well on our way to using this at the office as our go-to monitoring software.
