I first started using openDCIM several years ago. Before that I'd inherited a system based on a handful of wiki pages and the odd spreadsheet. Moving to openDCIM took a little time but we quickly found us back for that time in the ease with which we could find and update records. The big push for us to move to using it was a need to calculate the growing demand for power and cooling in our labs. By setting up a dozen templates we could quickly see the demand our kit was likely to put on the building infrastructure.
