Programming since 1980. Started on a NorthStar doing Z80 Assembly...wrote my own modem program to get online. (That's what you had to do in those days.) Moved on to Pascal, then COBOL while working in a Wang shop. Then C, which I loved more than all the rest for its compacted poetry. It's like Gerard Manley Hopkins. Then AWK which lead to Perl. Another kind of poetry. Now working mostly in Perl or Python, with a bunch of JavaScript, which I hate beyond measure, as it's neither fish nor fowl.
