Dear Open Hub Users,
We’re excited to announce that we will be moving the Open Hub Forum to
https://community.blackduck.com/s/black-duck-open-hub.
Beginning immediately, users can head over,
register,
get technical help and discuss issue pertinent to the Open Hub. Registered users can also subscribe to Open Hub announcements here.
On May 1, 2020, we will be freezing https://www.openhub.net/forums and users will not be able to create new discussions. If you have any questions and concerns, please email us at
info@openhub.net
I've added SequoiaDB nosql database into Projects, however I didn't find anywhere to add my company info into the system.
Is it going to fetch organization directly from Github or something?
Mr. Wang,
There are two ways that an organization can come to be on OpenHUB. First, if you affiliate with an organization (and if enough others do as well) and if you all contribute your effort to a project, the organization will be credited with those contributions. This is automatic. If an organization sponsors open-source projects directly they can apply to be recognized for that.
Let me know the specifics here and we can see what you can qualify for.
Thanks!
@ssnow-blackduck,
It does not seem possible to associate myself with an organization that does not already exist (the input field is not accepting my input, and goes back to Unaffiliated).
Kind regards,
Jeroen van Meeuwen
Jeroen,
That's supposed to work... I'll need to experiment around with it and see what might be the issue.
Standby.
Jeroen,
If the organization is not in the initial list, try Affiliations/Other then fill in the name of the Organization. It may take a while to show up in the list (not sure what the steps are but I'm pretty certain it isn't instant.)
Let me know if this helps (I'm still feeling out the creation cycle myself...)
Thanks!
I have added a couple of projects sponsored by my current employer (EPAM Systems) a few months back. And yet, I don't see EPAM to be shown amongst the organizations here on openhub.
Is there anything else I can do to make it happen? Thank you!
cOs,
You have done just what is needed. Currently and for the forseeable future the Organization pages are created manually.
What I need from you is an indication if the organization is:
Commercial Education Government or Non-Profit
Also need a suggestion where on your website I could find a discussion of your open-source philosophy Why we support Open Source Software
etc.
I need three projects (already existing or yet to be added) which represent projects sponsored by your organization.
An Open Hub Organization accumulates and features the statistics for the projects claimed and provides, in turn, statistics to the Programmers and coders who join Open Hub and that affiliate with the Organization.
Let me know.
Thanks!
Thanks for the quick response, ssnow-blackduck!
Here's the info you have requested:
I am doing some inside pushing to have more of our contributors to get registered here, so brace yourselves ;)
With best regards,
Cos
Cos,
Will get to work on it. Thanks for your reply. I will set you as manager of the organization once it is in place. You will be able to adjust all the variables for rhe organization right away. What I put in place is likely to be more generic than what you will be able to bring to it yourself.
When you ask contributors to join Open Hub, also ask that they affiliate with your organization so your statistics will reflect their good work.
Thanks!
Steve,
thank you very much for setting this up! I will get busy with listing more projects from our github.com/epam org.
With best regards,
Cos
Please add O.S. Systems (https://ossystems.com.br) organization; we are an embedded development company which contributes to many open source projects
