Would it be possible to separate lines of comments and lines of code? For example, I have commit access to XmlCopyEditor, but my only change so far was adding the GPL notice to the top of every source file. It would be erroneous to add that to my C++ experience.
interesting suggestion, zippy.
If I understand you correctly, you'd like us to not attribute experience if someone only touched comments - is that correct?
Correct. I don't deserve credit as a C++ programmer if I just adThat being said, their should be some metrics of documentation to compensate.
Long term it would be nice if metrics could classify comments as header blocks, javadocs, TODO etc. This way one could gain reputation as a code documenter beyond a code to comment ratio.
