CodePlex Enlistment SVN requires password?

I'm trying to Add a new source code enlistment to project GADS/OS.

When I enter the URL [https://GADSOS.svn.codeplex.com/svn](https://GADSOS.svn.codeplex.com/svn") without a username or password, I get An error occured connecting to the server. Check the URL, username, and password. I also tried [https://gadsos.svn.codeplex.com/svn](https://gadsos.svn.codeplex.com/svn") all lower case and got same error message.

I got the URL directly from CodePlex so it should be okay. I really don't want to enter an ID/PW since they will be public.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ron,

I can only tell you that the subversions on Codeplex.com are an elaborate hack that exposes the content of a Microsoft SCM as if it were a subversion. It is not a perfect emulation and occasionally we run into a problem with it but we have plenty that seem to work OK. I'll see what I can do to coax it to work. Let me know here if I don't get back to you in a day or so.

Thanks!

Ron,

I played with various combinations and I couldn't get it to work either. I also tried to bring the source down through subversion to my workstation and I was stopped at the border myself (though I can download a copy in a zip). Looks like this one is strictly a username/password issue. Perhaps you can get a read-only login/password that you wouldn't mind being semi-public? I'm not sure about how public the credentials are anyway but I haven't tried to check it to see if they can be available generally. Let me know if I can help.

Thanks!

Thanks for trying ... I have contacted CodePlex support.

I will post their response ... in case anyone else has same issue.

I sent an email to CodePlex support and this is their reply:

Sorry about the trouble, anonymous access to [https://GADSOS.svn.codeplex.com/svn](https://GADSOS.svn.codeplex.com/svn) works now. There was a configuration issue with your project that I fixed.

I also had to put it in as all lowercase https://gadsos.svn.codeplex.com/svn in order for it to work, but it now works.

Many thanks to ssnow-blackduck and the excellent support from the CodePlex/Microsoft team.
