Duplicate committers aren't being merged as expected

I don't know how this happened or how I can prevent it from happening in the future, but somehow I've managed to show up on my own project as two different committers -- one with a period at the end of my name, and the other without.

I have no idea where the sans-period name came from, because my local git repo and Github both have my name with the period, as it is on here.

Anyway, when I go to the extra (non-period) contributor profile...

... and click Claim Position, I'd expect everything from that profile to be merged into my main (real) one, but so far that hasn't happened -- and it's been a few days since I claimed it.

I'd like to know how I can keep my stuff together, and I'd like this extra profile to vanish, leaving all my commits tied to a single profile.

Take a look at the name confusion on this page: https://www.ohloh.net/p/talkwork/commits

Ok, apparently they are getting merged, but I guess the problem is that ohloh isn't bringing my name over from Github correctly (it drops the period). I've now edited my display name on ohloh to not have the period, so we'll see if that makes it work better -- but there's still a bug here that needs fixing.
