The bazaar enlistment in GNU PDF failed again :-)
Just wondering, why not retry the enlistment X hours after it fails, like with 2-3 retries total?
Does this happen with all bazaar repos hosted in Savannah, or just with ours?
Thanks!
Aleksander,
This bug is present in a small subset of bazaar repositories from all over that we are analyzing but the number is growing - partially as we are becoming aware of them but as well because additional repositories are failing to update. At present the only way to clear the problem is to re-fetch the repo from scratch but ohloh's processes are designed to only update projects with incremental updates. We do have a staggered retry system (with up to 9 retries, I think...) in place for many errors but these particular failures aren't included in the retry system currently. We have established a bug tracker for this failure and we're hoping to fix the problem properly in an upcoming sprint. In the meantime, I'll start a re-fetch for GNU PDF today and will report back here once I have some news.
Thanks for your patience.
Thanks for the quick response. Just tell me if there is something we can do in our side to avoid getting that error. Currently we're using bzr:// protocol, but we can change it to http:// if that makes the problem disappear.
Thanks!
Aleksander,
No, I'm afraid the protocol used won't make the enlistment more reliable. The issue is entirely ours. For now, best thing you can do is give me a {gentle nudge} or a {friendly elbow} here in this topic and I'll push the magic button.
On a better note, the project finished the re-fetch that I started overnight and is now up-to-date. Analysis page is at Jul 08 2011 and last commit is at 2011-07-07.
Thanks!
