Problems with ENUM Discoverer on Android

To anyone out there who can lend a hand on ENUM Discoverer:

I spent several hours yesterday trying to get ENUM Discoverer to work on two different phones: Google Nexus One running Android 2.3.4 and HTC Thunderbolt running Android 2.2. To the best of what I could tell, there wasn't much else I could do or configure after the one setup screen -- the setup was missing what the documentation called one of the two key pieces of the puzzle (configuration for the In-call screen), and when calling, it didn't intercept the call, and so the call failed. I did receive a notification that I manually had to go into, but what displayed didn't provide any information nor allowed further traversal of data. I've attached a screen shot.

  1. What Android versions is the ENUM Discoverer app known to work as expected on?

  2. Where can I get ENUM Discover installation instructions that are consistent with the actual app that is installed? The present documentation on the site here:

http://code.google.com/p/enumdiscoverer/

is not consistent with what I am seeing.

  1. Where can I get some set of screen shots or guide which shows me exactly what I should see when the ENUM Discoverer app operates correctly?

  2. Presuming that the answer to 1) includes support for Android 2.2, which does not have native SIP stack in the Android SDK, where can I obtain the SIP software and installation instructions on how to properly configure it for use with the ENUM Discoverer application?

  3. What is going to happen later in Q2 if we have this third party SIP stack installed, and the user does a software update to Android 2.3, which has a SIP stack built-in? Is this going to result in conflicts between the two SIP stacks? If so, what is the proper resolution?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Brad,

ENUM Discoverer was a PoC project designed and build for Android 1.6. It should 'work' on 2.x devices but has no SIP integration (nor does it have the 2.x contacts API which would have made the app market ready). It simply identifies how ENUM records could be used to store/retrieve contact information.

I will look to update the Code Project site with some screenshots when I have a moment.
