Also take into account art files like .blend and .svg as types of source.

interesting concept. I'm mostly ignorant of these file types. I assume people use tools to generate the contents of these files, no? Would counting the LOC of an .svg or .blend file be even a little meaningful?
.svg is more an image sourcefile. (iirc, its an xml-based format.) Its used for vector-based graphics.
.blend, again, is image-based, but, still, source
(this time, for 3d models.) it is mainly used in the open source 3d modeller, Blender
(blender3d.org)
LOC count... itsn't terribly meaningful, however, they are still useful for counting as a source contribution.
Not everyone that contributes to open source projects, or any projects, really, are programmers. Some, are artists.
