mass project stats?
I want to do some data mining on why people pick particular languages -- is there a suggested way on downloading some basic surface data about projects? The API limits it to 1000 requests a day... but that doesn't scale to 400,000 projects :)
I was able to do this for sourceforge but their data starts getting bad 2007 or so onwards. I'm hoping to get, for each project: prog languages used, project creation date, contributor IDs (and geography), project category tags, tools used, and natural languages used in the project.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
