Hello,
Why the activity charts are only centered on 2005?
I'm talking about these images:
http://www.ohloh.net/accounts/USER/positions/ID/commits\_compound\_spark.png
All the recent code commits (in 2010) are not visible.
Regards,
Wojciech
Hi Wojciech,
Sorry, these are simply very confusing graphs.
Each black dot on the horizontal axis marks the beginning of a year.
On the left side of the graph, we draw 15 years of activity using a very small scale, from 1990 to 2005.
On the right side of the graph, we draw 5 years of activity using a larger scale, from 2005 to 2010.
If you look closely, you can see that the 2010
label at the extreme bottom right is being cut off. We haven't looked closely at these graphs since the year began, so it wasn't obvious that the labels were getting cut off.
The graph is a (failed?) attempt to illustrate 20 years of activity in a small space. Yes, some developers really do have 20 years of commit activity. But we should probably reconsider how we draw these graphs.
Thanks,
Robin
