Enlistment for "Debian perl packages" not updating (1 month+)

Hi:

For some reason, the commits are really outdated and it's showing:

svn://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-perl/trunk
Subversion
(Failed about 1 month ago.)

As far as I know, that URL should still be working, but if it's broken, that's something I'll need to talk to the Debian System Administrator (DSA) team about.

Please look into this and advise on how best to proceed.

Cheers,

Jonathan

Hi jawnsy,

This update failed because of an internal Ohloh error. I've cleaned up the problem and rescheduled the update.

In general, this repository has been pretty challenging for us simply because it's so large, and apparently contains a lot of binary files. I try to keep it in good standing, but this project is something of an edge case for us.

I'll keep an eye on it today to make sure we get a clean update.

Thanks,
Robin

Hi Robin,

Thanks for your help tracking down the issue and adding the enlistment back to the queue.

I've noticed it updating a few times, but I haven't seen the code analysis complete. How long does it usually take for that to happen?

Cheers,

Jonathan

Well it usually takes just a few minutes for an update to complete. However, with this repository, we are still stuck trying to download the recent changes.

It appears that we are having our Subversion connections refused -- perhaps we are crossing some sort of bandwidth restriction, or the server simply can't keep up with our requests.

After each connection refusal, our server puts the job to sleep for several hours and tries again later.

It looks like we are still about 600 revisions behind the HEAD at this point, and we successfully get a few hundred revisions with each attempt. If everything continues as it has before, I'd guess it will take another few days to complete.

Robin:

Ah, I see. I'll try to talk to the system administrators for that server (it's Debian's main machine for developers) and see if I can have them add an exception for Ohloh to get the proper indexing done.

I'm not sure if the public SVN interface is restricted, though I know there have been some issues with viewsvn (due to Google and other search engines indexing the viewsvn pages) which has led to some poor performance in the past.

Thanks a lot for your help. I'm really excited by the types of statistics we get from Ohloh and would love to see more recent numbers. I understand it's quite difficult to keep up with the repository as it's quite large and has quite a few active developers making sometimes hundreds of commits a day.

Thanks for your help.

Warm regards,

Jonathan
