Take a look at the commits for swfmill:
https://www.ohloh.net/p/swfmill/commits
Ohloh credits me for every recent revision, but this is not correct. It seems that Ohloh is using the 'committer' field to identify the contributor, when it should be using the 'author' field.
Hi Daniel,
Yes, Ohloh retains only the committer name.
I have opened a ticket for this bug. It should be a straightforward fix.
Unfortunately, I can't give you a timeline for a resolution. I'll try to make some time for it within the next week.
Thanks,
Robin
No problem, thanks.
(The main effect of this bug for me is to significantly increase my kudos, so I'm not in too great a hurry :))
Any news about the evolution of this request?
As a side note, I had also reported that in a later message.
Hi Robin,
I guess the fix wasn't as straightforward as you hoped?
Is the fix still planned?
Cheers,
Dan.
Sorry, guys, this was indeed a simple fix, but it took me a long time to get around to actually doing the work.
The fix has now been deployed, and we are re-processing the repositories now. The correct author names should be online soon.
Thanks,
Robin
I understand that only too well :)
Thanks very much for your work — it’s much appreciated.
Thanks for fixing this, I confirm that it has worked well for our project BaShare.
Thanks!
Not surprisingly that change resulted in a massive drop of kudos for me... careful what you wish for, I suppose! :)
Sorry to dig this topic back up, but apparently there has been a regression for this fix. If you look at the contributors for Shaarli I am listed as the sole contributor, while I am mainly the commiter. See the original branch for yourself:
Committer: Emilien Klein
Author(s): Seb Sauvage
The author should be getting the credit and be listed as the contributor.
This might be Bazaar specific, but I guess other [D]VCS have this option to specify an author that's different than the commiter.
And FYI, the original project for which I reported the issue is affected by this issue again. I haven't done any real commits here myself, just as a proxy for the author which is specified in the commit.
