I recently found this site, very cool! I've shared this site with a few of the OS projects I work with. I added my own project JSFTemplating, but it is complaining that it failed to download the source:
http://www.ohloh.net/projects/5572/enlistments
I also added Woodstock and an enlistment for jMaki-charting, and Ryan added one for javaserverfaces-sources... these went through w/o a problem. Is there something I can do to help fix this problem? I've been waiting for a couple days now to see the stats and am very anxious. :) All my friends' projects are setup even though they got started long after mine... I'm jealous. ;) Please help!
Thanks!
Ken
hi Ken,
Thanks for the compliment! The download failures can be caused by a number of problems, but it's most often just a case of a network lag. I've rescheduled your project's download and will monitor it throughout the day. Thanks for you patience!
Jason,
Thanks for the prompt reply! I'll be watching! :)
Another quick question. This project is considering switching from CVS to SVN in the near future, however, during the switch we're going to lose our history information. How will this be handled by ohloh?
Thanks!
Ken
Hi Ken,
So far so good - we're 33% done with importing. It looks like it was, indeed, a network hiccup.
As for moving from CVS to SVN, I recommend using an import tool to keep your history. Looks like cvs2svn is your ticket. We've had many successful projects on Ohloh migrate their history from CVS to SVN successfully.
Otherwise there's an alternative but it's not as elegant.
Thanks for the advice Jason! I'm not sure if we can do that b/c of Collabnet / java.net. I'll investigate it, though. Maybe I need to move the whole repository somewhere else... we'll see.
Thank you!
Ken
