I checked our sourcemage/logs/upload.log and see:
2009-04-16 05:01:01 32227 Instruct file '/home/chroot/projects/s/sourcemage/instructs/smgl-0.10.0.iso.ohloh-instruct.xml' running.
This has been running for several days now. The file is 509M.
Should it take this long?
Same status when I check sourcemage/logs/upload.log eight days later.
Hi Eric,
You're the first person to attempt to upload a file of this size to our service. While we don't have a policy about the maximum file size, it does seem that there's a practical limit to how big a file can get before our system has a problem.
Somewhere in our backend there must be a step that is timing out or failing for some other reason related to the size of this file, and this is going to require some investigation.
In the short term, I'm afraid my answer is going to have to be that this is simply not possible under our current service. In time we may be able to increase our capacity, but we don't have the resources to work on this right now.
Thanks,
Robin
Thanks Robin. :) I should have tried a smaller file to start off with, but ISOs are all we really produce that others would want to download. Let us know when you'd like testing of larger files and we'll be happy to oblige.
