Becoming a manager sort of failed after timeout, but not really.. ;)
Hi,
I just stumbled upon something that might be a bug: I tried to become the initial manager for a project. Since it was marked as optional, I didn't enter a message and pressed the submit button. Nothing happened for a while (the browser appeared to be waiting for a response) and then an application error
page turned up.
I tried a second time with the same behavior. When, a minute or two later, I opened my account page, I saw the I manage these projects
box, so the database update seems to have made it.
Hope I didn't disturb anything by trying twice...

Sorry for the trouble, and thanks for reporting it.
We did make some changes recently, so there might be a problem on our end that needs investigating. I suspect it's related to a notification email that our system sends to all project managers when a major project change occurs. Did you happen to receive email from us after becoming a manager?
I think everything should be OK now, but let me know if there's anything still out of place.

yes, I received an email (only one), so this looks normal, too.
On the subject of notification emails: Would it be possible to send text/plain or multipart/alternative emails instead of text/html-only? I use mutt to read emails and I think text-only MUAs are not very uncommon for your audience..
