Hi Vincent, Eight months at https://www.openhub.net/p/nmh-mua/enlistments :-)

http://blog.openhub.net/status/ says New projects have priority over existing projects. If any new projects exist, a server will attempt to download a new project instead of updating one of its existing projects. If a lot of large new projects are added to the system, it might be a long time before a server has a chance to update an older project.

If that's still true, perhaps a backlog of new projects is starving any updates to existing ones. If a repo reaches, say, 14 days without a pull, and it had activity in the 14 days before that, then I'd expect it to be more important than new repos that may only achieve two commits in their life. There's not much point in being a list of repos site so I think the priority should be: active repos that haven't been pulled in a while, new repos never pulled, repos not pulled in a longer while whether active or not, and then in idle(!) time, pull popular, highly active, repos even though they're not too out of date.

It's less important to attract new projects that it is to keep existing users for existing projects. I learnt of this site by word of mount from a Red Hat employee some months ago. Talking to him yesterday, he doesn't visit any more, despite really liking the idea, because his mainstream project didn't get updated, he pointed this out, it was updated as a one-shot, just as every other complainant here seems to find, with no feedback about the underlying problems, and then it lagged again. He didn't bother complaining twice, and now doesn't spread that word of mouth. Have a waiting list for new projects so it's a sought after scarcity instead of them being a denial of service?

I've just seen The other service interruption will start on Friday, May 5 at 8 PM EDT. We will be taking the Open Hub offline at this time in order to perform a significant architecture upgrade. at http://blog.openhub.net/2017/04/open-hub-scheduled-downtime/ with more detail there so hopefully things will improve once those changes have had time to bed in.
