Since our initial release a few weeks ago, we've been busy working the kinks out of our current crop of appliances. Our main focus has been to try and figure out how to dramatically improve the usability of the handful of appliances we have released ... [More] so that they appeal to a much wider audience (e.g., not everybody likes mucking around with the command line). New versions of the Lamp, Joomla and Drupal appliances now feature: easy to use configuration console (written from scratch in Python) a beautiful web management interface (Mac OS X themed) auto-login while in demo/live mode root password configuration during installation In addition to numerous other improvements, updates and bugfixes. Detailed information and screenshots are available in the appliances section on the website, along with their respective release notes. Thanks to everyone who took the time to test the previous versions we released and provide us with valuable feedback. Remember, these are still beta appliances so be patient. Everything seems to work fine in our testing environment, but to make sure it works for everyone we need the community to help us with testing and to let us know if they come across any bugs or issues. Enjoy!   [Less]

Developer resources are always limited, so to help us focus and prioritize our efforts we've created a voting section on the web site that should make it easier for users to share their views on what matters the most. We're interested in feedback from ... [More] the community on issues such as Ubuntu vs. Debian, which virtual machine targets we should support, 64bit support, etc.Check it out, every vote counts! [Less]

"Build it and they will come". Or so they say. After a busy couple of weeks we are hopefully ready to launch and see if that really works. As a first step, we are releasing just a handful of proof of concept beta appliances which will be gradually ... [More] improved and expanded as we receive more ideas, feedback and support from the community (that means you!). We believe open source projects live and die by the community that builds around to support them, so naturally we would like to strongly encourage the community's involvement as much as possible. Rather than trying to reinvent the wheel (poorly), we've decided to go ahead and shamelessly monkey the online tools and stylings of the Ubuntu community. Secretly we're hoping our community will eventually grow into a specialized extension of the Ubuntu community, just as the Ubuntu community has grown into a specialized extension of the Debian community. Keep in mind, this is all spanking brand new at this point, so there may well be a few kinks to work out (e.g., with the website, beta appliances, community tools). Be patient, if you come across any bugs or issues please let us know! [Less]
