In a move to strengthen its action worldwide, the Plone Foundation has set up an advisory board and named its first members. Their role will be to provide advice to the Foundation Board and represents the Foundation in the USA and Latin America.

Common Belgium organizes a day dedicated to Open Source Applications on December 17 in Brussels. This day allows you to participate to several conferences to put theory into practice. The program includes talks about the Content Management Systems Plone.

Plone is emerging as the CMS of choice in the Asia Pacific region. To ensure this trend continues the AsiaPacific Plone user group invites all Plone developers from companies, Governments, non-profits and individuals to join and contribute.

The third edition of a guide to help small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to adopt Open Source software has been published. Different types of software applications and businesses models are addressed, making this guide useful for most SMEs that wish to simply use FOSS or even build a FOSS-based business approach.

PloneGov.ch won the prestigious Swiss eGovernment Award 2008 at the annual eGovernment Symposium in Bern on Nov 18 2008. This price rewards PloneGov.ch for its innovative approach and becomes the 7th international recognition received by the PloneGov initiative and its members projects over the last 18 months.

An international conference will take place in Paris on December 1 and 2 in order to promote Open Source softwares and support the Open Source research and communities.
