December 22, 2007 (What's New?)
This is a minor update release, targeted to the release of FCKeditor.Net 2.5. It impacts mainly ASP.NET developers. Changes to the code are minimal, to make it safe upgrading from FCKeditor 2.5.
The only
... [More]
sugar we wanted to add to this release is the new FCKeditor.ReplaceAllTextareas function for the JavaScript integration file. It brings power and flexibility on replacing <textarea> fields on the page.

This is the most important release since FCKeditor 2.0. It introduces Safari and Opera compatibility, but also new features that leverage the quality of FCKeditor to an upper level. You will find no similar
... [More]
solution on other products.
The most exciting feature is the new Style System. Now you have full control over every single formatting and semantic command available in the editor interface. Why having a limited interface to achieve a XHTML 1.1 experience? Enjoy a full featured editor, while well controlling how things work on it. No more <font> tags? Well, the system is so flexible that it is up to you to decide (but don't worry... no <font> tags by default :).
Do you want more? What about blockquote support, the revamped Undo System, the Data Processor which makes it possible to handle non HTML data, and much more. [Less]

October 10, 2007 (What's New?)
After an incredible development period, full of challenges and enriched by brilliant ideas, here we are with the Beta for the most important release of FCKeditor since version 2.0. It brings not only Safari
... [More]
and Opera support, but also introduces incredibly powerful features.
The new Style System gives full control of the generated markup to developers' hands. Why having a limited interface to achieve a XHTML 1.1 experience? Enjoy a full featured editor, while well controlling how things work on it. No more <font> tags? Well, the system is so flexible that it is up to you to decide (but don't worry... no <font> tags by default :)).
Do you want more? What about blockquote support, the revamped Undo System, the Data Processor which makes it possible to handle non HTML data, and much more. And of course, lots of bug fixes.
It's too much to describe in these few lines. So, go ahead with FCKeditor 2.5 Beta, and enjoy a new editing experience!

Those are the numbers from our direct downloads. Considering also the numbers of systems that include FCKeditor

, we can definitively, and objectively, confirm that FCKeditor is the most used browser based text editor out there.
We’ll not stop here. We’ll increase our investments to continue providing not only the most used, but also the best editor in the market.
